About a week after she had completed her freshman year at
college, Kristin Nollan had oral surgery to remove her wisdom teeth. The surgery was a success, just as
she and her mother Jadine had prayed for and her recovery was progressing
great. A couple of routine medications were prescribed to reduce swelling and ward off infection,
which Kristin took and which seemed to be really helping in the healing process. However, after five
days of taking these medications, Kristin developed a terrible rash. It started on one of her arms and
quickly spread. Soon, big red whelps covered both her arms and legs. The rash itched terribly and
Kristin was miserable because nothing offered very much relief.
Jadine called the doctor’s office and told the nurse what was happening. The nurse advised that Kristin
should stop taking all the medication at once and begin taking Benedryl to
relieve the itching. One problem though, Kristin had already taken her prescription medication
dosage for the day; it was in her system and it appeared she would have to
suffer through the day until the drugs ran their course. However, Kristin ran down to the
drugstore, bought the Benadryl, came home and immediately took a dosage.
Another problem too, Kristin and Jadine were to attend a funeral that afternoon. The Benedryl was going to
take some time before any relief would occur. Kristin told her mom that she
itched so badly she wasn’t sure she could tolerate sitting through the
service. Jadine quickly answered, “Let’s pray.” So
Jadine and Kristin prayed and agreed together that the itching and the
rash were bound and cast down and that by the blood of Jesus and His
stripes Kristin was healed. They prayed in faith and then continued getting ready for the
funeral.
Later, in the car, after the funeral, Kristin asked Jadine to look at her leg, but Jadine
couldn’t really see anything and told Kristin so. Kristin replied excitedly, “You
can’t see anything because there is nothing there!” The rash was completely gone. There was not one red splotch on
her anywhere. Kristin was completely healed.
Jadine and Kristin praised God for His goodness and faithfulness. They acted on His Word and saw how
He proved Himself in an amazing and miraculous way!
